I found out how to make WLAN sync reliable (at least for me)
Hi all,
I'm one of those paranoids (since Snowden I know I'm only a realist), who do not trust cloud services. I have 1Password on my Mac and two iOS devices and had many trouble with WLAN sync. Sometimes it worked, sometimes not, often I had to restart the WLAN router.
The solution:
1. Shut down 1Password on iOS (not only put it to background)
2. Lock 1Password on the Mac and shut it down (not only close the window)
3. Shut down iTunes on the Mac (not only close the window)
4. Try again WLAN sync between Mac an iOS device
My assumption is, that there is some interference between iTunes and 1Passwords WLAN sync.
Greetings,
Michael

Hi Michael ( @ostheimm ),
Thanks for posting this solution you've discovered for making 1Password Wi-Fi syncing work reliably on your network. Presumably step 3, quitting iTunes (or not), is what matters most? Does syncing refuse to work in some cases while iTunes is running and starts working consistently whenever it isn't (after steps 1 and 2)? Is it necessary to repeat steps 1 and 2 if iTunes hasn't been run again since the previous Wi-Fi sync attempt?
I'll pass this information along to the developers so they can do testing for any correlation between iTunes and Wi-Fi syncing. Thanks again for letting us know about it, and we'll let you know if our testing reveals anything worthwhile. :)

Hi Oversoul,
my problem was, that my Mac was not listed in the Wi-Fi Sync dialog on iOS, as long as iTunes was running. Quitting iTunes is the most important step, but without restarting the 1Password apps it could take a while until the Mac is listed in iOS. So step 1 and 2 is only necessary to get a quicker result from step 3.
After quitting iTunes it's working consistently.

Thanks for the followup, @ostheimm. That makes sense and jogged my memory of a similar experience I was having with intermittent Wi-Fi syncing connectivity a few months ago, which was also on the Mac I frequently have iTunes running on. It's tempting to do some testing with your steps in hand but I may just leave that up to the developers now. :)

very good hint - should be added in documentation.

Hi Peter,
Our team is currently working on updating our documentation, I'd be happy to mention to them that you'd like to see this added. :)
