Deleting 1Password 3

Hi @fkandt,
Congratulations on upgrading to 1Password 4. :)
If you're satisfied that 1Password 4 is working perfectly for you now, with all of your data where it belongs, then feel free to remove any older versions.
On your Mac, this guide and the uninstaller app it refers to may help:
Completely Uninstalling 1Password | 1Password 3 User Guide
On your iPhone, it's simply a matter of deleting the 1Password 3 app.
If syncing is still enabled in 1Password 3 you may want to disable that first, although it would already be distinct from your iCloud sync configuration in 1Password 4.

Thanks for your response. May I ask for a clarification? The link on uninstalling says: "The uninstaller will remove 1Password and all it's components from your computer". It doesn't offer a choice of which version to install. There are two versions, 3 and 4 on my computer. Will the uninstaller only remove 1Password 3 while leaving 1Password 4 and it's data intact?

Hi @fkandt,
I'm glad you asked for clarification. :)
That guide and uninstaller app was written for 1Password 3 so there is no choice of version. However, it is possible for other versions of 1Password to be accessing the same data as 1Password 3, e.g. through Dropbox or Folder syncing. But removing that data won't remove the 1Password 4 database which is stored separately from any data it's optionally configured to sync with. There's some additional explanation: here (post #52).
Will the uninstaller only remove 1Password 3 while leaving 1Password 4 and it's data intact?
It will never remove a local 1Password 4 database, but could remove data it's being synced with. It's not going to touch any of your iCloud sync data.
If that's still not clear enough please ask again. :)
