1Password5--No iCloud option in Sync preferences.....
Hey, guys:
I just bought the app from the Mac App Store. I'm running 10.10 on a 2014 Mini (yeah, I bought one even though it has only two cores--neener). I have iCloud enabled and I'm signed in, and have iCloud Drive enabled. However, when I access Sync preferences, there isn't an iCloud option--only Dropbox and Folder. I've tried signing out and signing back into iCloud, restarting 1Password, and rebooting the Mini, but still no iCloud option.
Is this a bug, or am I missing something obvious?
Thanks!
A. F.

Hi @Attirex,
It sounds like you're using the AgileBits store version of 1Password, which is unable to sync via iCloud.
Please open 1Password and go to 1Password > About 1Password in the OS X menu bar. What version and build number do you see there?
Thanks in advance for the additional info!

Ah, yep, dummy me, you're right (says version 5.0.2 (502007) and "Agile Web Store"). So I'll buy it from the App Store.
Thanks!

You're welcome! Also, we have a guide to assist with the transition to the Mac App Store version from a technical perspective. This guide is available here: https://guides.agilebits.com/1password-mac-kb/5/en/topic/switching-to-mas
Please let us know if you have any other questions. We're always happy to help!

Hi Jasper, does this mean that I need to purchase 1Password from the App Store for $57.99 even though I purchased it from Agile Bits?

If your purchase was recent (no more than thirty days) you can get a refund and then buy from the App Store.
Or you can keep the version you have bought, and use Dropbox sync. This actually has some advantages over iCloud sync unless you insist on iCloud for some reason.
The purchase page at AgileBits does say that you need the App Store version if you want iCloud sync. This information is not hidden in any way, it is clearly visible, but it seems that many people miss it. Hopefully AgileBits will soon redesign their site to make it more difficult to miss.

Hi @MikeC,
I checked our sales records and it looks like you bought 1Password 5 over a year ago, so it's well outside of our 30-day refund window. And unfortunately we have no way to offer you a discount in the Mac App Store.
But as danco mentioned, you still have access to Dropbox Sync (that's what I use!), as well as Wi-Fi Sync, if you don't want to make another purchase.
Sorry if this isn't the news you were hoping for. But do let us know if there's anything else we can help you with!
