Hi, I have no access to my MacPro due to graphic troubles. When I change my master password for 1PW on my MacBook Pro (syncing via Dropbox) is the master password also changed on my MacPro?

    Hi @AustriaXL‌

The concise answer is it should, Dropbox will but it's unlikely your Mac Pro will pick up the changes.

We're aware of a bug where the other copies of 1Password aren't picking up on the change in the agilekeychain. I can go into depth as to how this can happen but I'll spare you the gory details unless you want them. We're looking into this issue and while I can't say when a version that squashes this bug will be released I believe we're making progress.

What should happen is you change your Master Password on computer/device A. That change cause a particular file to be encrypted with your new password and computer/device A syncs that file to the sync keychain. You can verify that via 1PasswordAnywhere if you're using Dropbox. Then when you enter the new Master Password on computer/device B it can't decrypt the local copy of this particular file so 1Password is meant to try the same file in the sync location. If it unlocks it knows you have changed your password. At the moment something is going wrong there but our devs are on it.

    Thank´s for your reply.
I have to send my MacPro to Apple (Protection Plan). They will have a look at my graphical troubles. For some reason I wanted to change my master password for 1PW before delivering to Apple....As I have no access to my MacPro, I will change the master password on my MacBook Pro (sync via Dropbox) any way.

    Hi @AustriaXL‌

I'm glad that @littlebobbytables‌' reply helped you out. I am so glad you are thinking strongly about the security of your data - thats what we like to see!

I just wanted to assure you that your data file is encrypted with an exceedingly secure encryption algorithm called AES. Even if someone were to acquire a copy of your 1Password data file, it would be extremely difficult (approaching impossible in a human lifetime) for them to actually gain access to your passwords without your Master Password. To learn more about cloud data security, have a read through the following article.
