Quick adding and removal of tags

I'm using the tagging feature extensively, but I find it very tedious to add and remove tags. It seems that I always have to enable edit mode first to do this. There is an alternative for adding tags by dragging a list item on a tag in the sidebar, but you can't drag items out. I would like to make two suggestions:

  1. Add a context menu to list items that allows users to quickly add or remove tags, pretty much like it works in Finder.
  2. Make it possible to select a tag in the item view and remove it by pressing the delete key (or right-click 'Remove Tag') without having to enable edit mode first. Perhaps also here an option to quickly add tags would be nice (like in Finder's column view).
