1Password 5 breaks under Yosemite patch

I upgraded to 10.10.1 yesterday, and the OS moved 1Password into the "Incompatible software" folder. Tried installing with a fresh copy, but it doesn't launch. Anyone else having this issue? Very frustrating.

I don't know how this helps you, but I have not had this experience with 10.10.1. Everything runs normally and the Incompatible Software folder contains no evidence of 1Password. It it matters, I am running the version from the AgileBits web store.

  • I also have not had this issue, and I use the Mac App Store version.

I also find 1P5 runs perfectly for me under OS X 10.10.1. Nothing was moved to an "incompatible software" folder when I upgraded the OS.

There was another report on this forum of something related to 1P being moved to the "incompatible software" folder but I believe it was a relic from 1P2. What exact 1P files do you have in your "incompatible software" folder?

I rather suspect your problem with 1P5 is not actually related to the OS X upgrade. If you do a spotlight search for "1Password" what is the result? (I'm wondering if you're now running into the Yosemite problem that occurs if you have more than one version of 1P on your machine.)

Hi @KDandenell‌ Let us know how you've got along and if you've managed to sort this out yet. I do remember reading a couple of posts where I believe the users were saying the updater was reporting 1Password 5 was incompatible but this is the first instance I've heard of where it was actually moved (in all other cases 1Password 5 worked after the update).
