Upgrading from Mavericks to Yosemite. "incompatible" folder.
In the upgrade an install looking bundle was put into a "incompatible software" folder. I still have my folder containing vs.4 and "read me" in my applications folder. Do I do something with that bundle thing in folder or what(?)... to transition from vs.4 to vs.5 in Yosemite with out losing my very important vs.4 data? Please provide me with the steps to get vs.5 into Yosemite with all my logins and data intact.

Others have reported certain 1P elements (sometimes from very old versions of 1P) ending up in an "incompatible software" folder when doing Yosemite upgrades (notably the upgrade to 10.10.1). I believe nobody has yet said that 1P stopped working as a direct result of that. Some of us have not had anything moved to an "incompatible software" folder anyway—so it all seems a bit of a mystery at the moment.
I suspect you're able to delete the 1P item from the "incompatible software" folder with no ill effect at all but, to be absolutely sure, why not first tell us the exact name of the file that is in that folder and we'll be able to give better advice?
Have you yet installed 1P5 and, if so, is it working properly?

Hi @slmdunkr
Sorry to hear you've been having troubles. It's odd and we don't know yet why some people are getting this message while others aren't (I received no such message at all).
I've not heard of any instances of 1Password not running though so whatever this blip is it doesn't seem to stop anything.
The move from 1Password 4 to 1Password 5 should be fairly seamless.
- If you purchased from Apple's Mac App Store then it should be as simple as downloading the update now visible from the App Store.
- If you purchased direct from us (so web store version) then launching 1Password 4 and looking for an update should trigger it.
If for some reason you can't perform an update from within the web store version let us know and we can cover what to do in that (hopefully) rare situation.
