Feature Request: Upgrade Metadata Tags Functionality
ALCON,
BLUF: Requesting upgraded functionality of "Tags" for logins and notes.
Background: Currently the "Tags" option can be better integrated into the 1 password Application. The only way to sort for items with a tag is to create a smart folder and indicate the character or tag. Or utilize the Automatically Generated "Tag Folder."
Recommend: The following features
- Sort ability for tags in the Category Search and Search Drop Down
- Ability to Right Click on a Login and "Assign a Tag"
- Ability to create a smart folder by right clicking on folder and a option for "Smart folder" is under the "New Folder" selection. (Currently the only way is to click File --> New Smart Folder in the Menu Bar of the program)
- Ability to Right Click on the "Tags" menu option and "Create a New Tag" without having a login with that Tag.

Sorry @RK1985 I'm confused, we do have tags. How do you wish tags to operate differently from how they currently do?

Sir @littlebobbytables , I see how my request was not clear, I have rewrote the request. Please let me know if this is more understandable.

Hi @RK1985
So I think 4. wouldn't work as the section shows tags currently in use. If you have a tag attached to only one item, removing the tag removes the entry from the sidebar automatically. However, if we expand suggestion 2. (which actually I really like) I think we can incorporate both.
Right click on item offers Add Tag option. This opens up a small dialog with a text box and your standard two buttons Cancel and Add. Typing into the text box will work just like adding a tag when editing an item, it suggests existing tags that currently match what you're typing. That way a new tag could easily be added as well as attaching existing ones. What do you think?
Suggestion 3. I don't know if it's a time saver at all but I can't imagine it would be hard to do (and it would better match the File drop down menu).
It might just be because it's a bit late for me but could you describe suggestion 1. in a little more detail please, I just can't visualise what you're describing (sorry).
