Default browser
I would like 1Password desktop to open websites in Safari rather than in my default browser Chrome. How can I make this work?

1Password will always open and fill websites in your default browser from the main app. If you use go and fill from 1Password mini, the currently active browser will be used (or the default browser if no browser is open).
If you want more control over which browser is used, I know some folks use an app called Choosy, which will not only let you select a browser, but it also works with every app on your system. There are even advanced rules you can set up to make certain websites open in certain browsers or links from certain apps open in certain browsers.
Please let us know if you have any other questions. We're always happy to help!

Hi JasperP. I've found that on the latest OSX version and with the latest version of 1Password, "open and fill" is inconsistent:
- it always switches from the current browser to the default browser, no matter if I select "open and fill" in the 1Password Mini (menu bar) or in the 1Password extension of the current browser, if I select "open and fill" from the login details
- it doesn't switches to the default browser and remains in the current browser only if I select "open and fill" in the 1Password Mini (menu bar) or in the 1Password extension of the current browser in the menu that only appears when I press the gear icon
I find this a little inconsistent because the command has the same name in two different places of the same software but behaves in two different ways in these two places.
Anyway it's important to have such a command because it's an important feature, so please keep it anyway running.
Otherways thank you for this excellent software.

Hi @mipa,
I agree that this is inconsistent. I've created a bug (OPM-2763) for this so that we can look into and try to make it better in a future release. If I'm interacting with the extension in my non-default browser, I would expect it to open & fill in that non-default browser.
