Set iCloud account within 1Password
Hi, I currently use two iCloud accounts -- one at home and one for my work machine. I use 1Password on both computers, and would like them to be synched using iCloud (I don't use DropBox, and do not want to start doing so); in other words, I want to configure 1Password so that it uses a specific iCloud account rather than the system default.
Since even Apple-provided apps (such as the App Store) allow me to log out of one iCloud account and into another without changing the system-wide setting, I know that this is in theory possible. However, I cannot find how to tie 1Password to anything but the default system-wide iCloud account. To reiterate, I'm not looking to sync multiple vaults or iCloud accounts together -- I just want to have all my copies of 1Password, wherever they may reside, use the same vault contained within a single iCloud account.

Hi @mithr,
There is no way to selectively pick which iCloud account to be used for a specific app. It is a one-for-all type of setup and you establish which account for all apps to use in System Preferences. I'm not sure any Apple apps let you use a different iCloud account either (the App Store is separate, it doesn't exactly use iCloud). Sorry I don't have a better answer for you!

Hi Jasper, several Apple apps, such as Notes, Calendar, and Reminders let you use data contained within any iCloud account configured under Internet Accounts in System Preferences (you can have several of these), rather than only data associated with the primary account.

You're right... I completely forgot you can add an additional iCloud account for a few of the Apple apps. Unfortunately, I don't think this is something Apple allows third-party developers to use. As far as I know, we're only able to access the primary iCloud account set up on the device. Are you aware of any third-party apps using CloudKit sync that allow you to select which iCloud account to sync with?
