Password Display Bug (Oversight?) in 1Password v5.0.2 for Mac

When using 1Password v5.0.2 (502006) on my Mac when I'm looking at a record, and if there's a long password, only a portion of it is displayed with an ellipsis indicating that there is more.

You can only see the entire password if you "Edit" the record.

This is very inconvenient as there are some sites that use Flash that won't let a password be pasted, forcing you to enter it manually.

    Hi @rdvii‌

So what we're looking for is better handling of long passwords, having them span more than a single line if necessary so that the entire password is visible. Would you say that's a fair description of what you would like to see happen?

What I see is similar, but somewhat more complicated. I see a long password displayed with an ellipsis that is sensitive to the size of the window in a surprising way. Not only will the ellipsis disappear (and the whole password be displayed) if I enlarge the window width slightly, but also if I narrow the window width slightly, indicating that the ellipsis was never necessary in the first place!

It is obvious, in the case of my Apple password, that the ellipsis is unnecessary, because several other fields (in the notes section) extend almost to the right edge of the window, while the password field doesn't even come close to the edge of the window. So there is lots more room for the long password than is being used, but which under certain circumstances is not being used. One such circumstance is when I'm looking at my Favorites list and click on, say, Amazon and then click on Apple. Switching from Amazon to Apple causes the Apple password to be displayed with ellipsis. Any tiny adjustment to the window width (even narrowing it) eliminates the ellipsis.

This looks more like a Bug to me than something that calls for multiple line passwords.

    Hi @Duane Williams,

Thank you for taking the time to let us know the details about that! Our developers are aware of this issue, so hopefully they'll be able to fix this sometime soon (although I don't have a timeframe for that). I'm sorry for the inconvenience!

    Thanks again! :)

    Hi @Duane Williams

Just to let you know, I've removed your duplicate post from the Mac beta forums. Since we're already discussing the issue here, it's easier to just keep things all in one place. :)
