Locked out weirdness [Resolved]

Ok, so I am a relatively new customer. Love the concept and paid for a license. I synced to dropbox to put the same vaults on my two macs. Setup everything on my primary Mac, and copied over to my old one. So far so good.

Been using it for 48 hrs and something weird just happened. I am nearly 100% confident of the following: I was locked out just now from my primary computer's 1password and my actual Master password would NOT open my 1password. I tried 5 times, carefully typing the password. Locked out each time

I opened my other computer and could open 1password no problem. Once I did that, I went back to my primary, and tried again, and voila - it opened.

This is truly bizarre and has me a bit worried. There is no way I mistyped my master password 5 times in a row.

Any thoughts?

    Hi @tdiggy9976‌,

Thanks for taking the time to write in

This is very strange indeed... Is it possible that you accidentally switched vaults by using the keyboard shortcuts (⌘+1, ⌘+2, etc)? When 1Password is locked and you switch vaults you can only unlock the secondary vault.

This could also have happened, if you were using both the Mac App Store and the website version of 1Password. Please look in your /Applications folder and make sure that you have a single copy of 1Password.app or 1Password 5.app. You should have a single copy of 1Password on your hard drive.

Lets try's try the following steps to determine whether you can unlock 1Password young your Master Password:

    1. Quit both 1Password and 1Password mini on your primary Mac by using ⌘+opt+Q
    2. Launch 1Password again from your /Applications folder
    3. Unlock using your Master Password. It should work.

    Hope that this helps

    Cheers!

Thanks for the response. I figured it out - dumb user error. It turns out I remembered my long new master password incorrectly....its a password thats 20+ string length long, and I had an extra capital somewhere where I expected it to be non-capital. Was able to "hack" it and find out my error. All is good. thanks!
