I use Chrome. I had already turned this off in preferences. But now it shows up again. I can't use 1password to fill out any logins as this error comes up. what is the workaround if its already turned off and not supposed to check this.

I just tried setting the web proxy as the troubleshooting page indicates. Didn't make any difference. 1password does not work with chrome at all.
no changes from yesterday when it did work. What???? Safari works fine, I just don't use that browser

    Hi @wasted1‌

Can you let us know what versions of Chrome, 1Password and the 1Password browser extension you're currently running please.

I downloaded the extension that is not the beta, and it seems to work now. Apparently the beta broke

I have to confess, I don't tend to run a lot of beta software myself. I salute those brave enough to do so though as there can be problems. Another cracking example at the moment is certain scrolling in 10.10.2 seems to be broken meaning anybody running Apple's beta is a bit borked at the moment.

My personal opinion is unless you fall into one of these two options, stick with the stable.

    1. You've been told a bug that you find is a deal breaker is fixed in a beta
    2. You're brave and like testing stuff. You also don't mind if it breaks.

I'm glad to hear you're up and running again though. Hopefully it will remain problem free

I've been having the same trouble for several weeks now. 1P v5.0.2 on OS X 10.10.1 running Chrome 39.0.2171.95 (64-bit). I've verified it's not in the middle of updating itself.

  • Hi @jgclark,

Do you use a firewall or similar tool, such as Sophos? Security software can interfere with the web socket connection and can cause the verification process to fail.

If you use Sophos, please follow these instructions to correctly configure it: https://guides.agilebits.com/1password-mac-kb/5/en/topic/configuring-sophos

To configure a firewall or proxy server, please see this guide: https://guides.agilebits.com/1password-mac-kb/5/en/topic/configuring-firewall

Please let us know if that helps! :)

I don't use Sophos, but do use the built-in firewall. I've turned that off and added 127.0.0.1 to the proxy bypass, and it now seems fine. Thanks for your prompt help.

    Hi @jgclark‌

That's great to hear that JasperP's recommendations helped. Rather than turning off the built-in firewall what about adding 1Password as an exception? That way you can keep the safety net while still having the extension work.
