Itunes won't let me download my paid 1password app onto my wife Mac

Hi,
I paid for 1Password and installed it on my Mac, iPhone, iPad and MacBookPro. No problem. All synced on iCloud.
The issue is that I can't get it downloaded on my wife's Mac.

On her Mac, I signed out of her iTunes account and signed into mine. When I open the 1password page to download from iTunes the button says download, but it is gray. So it won't download. Any advise would be helpful. Thanks!

As long as you are signed into your account there really is not a reason you should not be able to download the app. Well in a perfect world.

You might check her purchases and see if she downloaded a version and thats prohibiting the new download. You may also wish to check the downloads queue and see if a partial download is in progress from an earlier attempt. etc

I was once cautioned by an Apple support person that there is a limited number of times allowed to change from one Apple ID to another. I did not learn how often it is permitted, but perhaps that's at issue? Just a thought.

@gollum‌ As Apple's Mac App Store is completely out of our control you may find it necessary/quicker if you give Apple a call and see if they can see any reason why this is happening. I've never jumped between Apple IDs before so I wasn't aware of what hawkmoth is reporting, certainly interesting.

I'm assuming the download button is also greyed out on the Purchases tab too?

Simply changing the iTunes account information is likely not sufficient. Apple sold the usage license to YOU, not to your wife. If you really want to fake out Apple, you probably need to go to her computer System Preferences > iCloud and change everything to your Apple ID. I also strongly suspect that you would have to keep her computer that way in order for 1P to continue to function.

@gollum - Are you aware that 1Password on the Mac App Store is eligible for Family Sharing. If you and your wife use the same credit card and are members of the same family group, you won't have to do the change ID dance.

A better way to do this is to create a new Admin user on your wife's Mac with your credentials. Then you can download any Mac Store purchases you've made and they're available to her (inside her account) as well.

    Hi @gollum‌,

If signing into the Mac App Store on your wife's Mac with your Apple ID doesn't allow her to download 1Password, then aside from contacting Apple for help, I think @hawkmoth's suggestion to set up Family Sharing will be your best bet. You can find information on setting up Family Sharing on Apple's site here: http://support.apple.com/kb/PH18977

Let us know how it goes, and if you need anything else. Thanks! :)
