New user - How can our 2nd Mac share the vault
I bought the family pack a few months ago and it seems to work on my computer. It installed on my husband's computer, but I don't know how to get the password etc info shared in his 1Password program.
I don't see the option to share this on iCloud, and I don't want to have to enter all the info from scratch onto his computer's copy.
Thank you for any help!

Hi @cny
Can I just confirm, you want to share the entire contents of your vault on your computer with your husband on his computer, is that correct?
As you purchased a family pack that means you purchased from us. My recommendation is to ignore iCloud and instead consider Dropbox. A single account between the two of you will be more than enough for syncing. You would initiate syncing on your machine first and give it a moment to upload the entire contents of your vault to Dropbox. Then you could link to that same keychain on your husband's computer and the two will remain in sync.
Here's our guide on Sync with Dropbox which you would follow on your Mac.
With that part done you can turn your attention to your husband's computer. You would connect to your shared Dropbox account and let it download everything.
Now if you've already set up a primary vault on your husband's computer then I'd recommend the following. Use the Starting Over guide to return your husband's machine to a pre-vault state. Please note the steps on terminating 1Password mini and rebooting are important and ignoring them will potentially result in very funky behaviour. Once you've done that (or if you never set up a primary vault) you can follow this guide for Getting started again on a new computer. You may even find it automatically finds your Dropbox keychain and simply asks you for your Master Password. At this point your two vaults will remain synced unless you tell it to stop.
If you have any questions, if anything isn't covered in enough detail or my assumptions on how you want to share information are incorrect please do post back here and let us know. Otherwise we'll hopefully be hearing that you've had success and it's all working as desired.

Yes, I want everything shared with my husband's computer.
Is there some way I can redownload from iTunes so I can use iCloud - (without losing everything)?0 -
Hi @cny
Unfortunately Apple don't have the facility to allow user migration from one version of a developer's product to one in the Mac App Store. There are other weaknesses too such as we can offer 1Password 3 users an upgrade price in our store but there isn't any way to do this either in the Mac App Store. So sadly the only way to do so would be to repurchase 1Password direct from Apple.
From your question I'm guessing you're not too keen on using Dropbox. I know many of our users can be quite passionate about their sync method of choice, is there a reason why Dropbox isn't an acceptable alternative?

Hi @cny,
Unfortunately Apple doesn't provide a way to convert a license for our website version of 1Password to the Mac App Store version. If you want the Mac App Store version of 1Password, you would need to purchase that separately.
However, switching to the Mac App Store version in order to use iCloud sync won't help you to share your 1Password vault with your husband, because iCloud doesn't let you share the data with a different iCloud account. If you want to share your 1Password vault with your with your husband, you'll need to use Dropbox sync instead. We have more information here: Share a vault
If you have questions about that, please let us know, thanks! :)
