1Password failed to connect to 1Password
Hi, Apple support gave me 1Password for free, because I had lots of problems with it,
After an update by the app store, the app now shows the error "1Password failed to connect to 1Password" I have found lots of posts telling me to delete 1Password, however for me, that would be impossible, because I wont be able to download 1password again by the app store, because I would be made to pay
- as it was given as a free gift, I feel it should stay that way
So is there anyway of fixing this problem with out deleting the app,

Hi @SignedAdam,
Thanks for taking the time to write to us :+1:
Can you see 1Password in the App Store.app Purchases tab? If so, it is safe to trash 1Password and download it again. It is very likely that the copy of 1Password that you have in your /Applications folder somehow got corrupted. Unfortunately, the only fix is to re-download it again.
Hope that this helps
Cheers!

Are you one of the App developers or part of the support staff, you have misread my message
if I delete 1password from my mac's Application folder, then I will have to pay for it again, because Apple told me that would happen, as "1password" was given to me as a gift, which means I would have to pay for 1password, I know this because I have removed 1password and seen the app store asks me to pay for it again, I have a backup copy which I put in the deleted "1password"s place
Apple told me the only way to fix this issue, is to contact you,

I see that you've emailed us. To avoid duplication or confusion I'm going to close this thread so we can keep the conversation going in one place.
