Is it a safe practice to save .agilekeychain onto a USB stick?

The .agilekeychain file is always encrypted, in effect, by your master password so I guess the only real difference between having it on a USB stick and having it on your Mac is that it's rather easier to lose the USB stick. However, whoever gets hold of the file if and when you lose it still has to crack the master password.
Why would you want to store the keychain file on a USB stick? The answer to that question might lead to a better solution to the problem. (For example, if it's so that you can have access to your 1P data wherever you are, you might consider the combination of Dropbox and 1Password Anywhere.)

I want to have all the files secure, so that they can not be deleted by anyone (even if a device is stolen and cracked)
Also, if a device gets stolen, i want to be able to change the passwords.I have heard about "badUSB" and that USB Sticks are not very safe?

My personal view is to rely on backups—made to disks not permanently attached to the Mac. I make Carbon Copy Cloner and Time Machine backups of my Mac both at home and "off-site" and feel, for me, that (subject as mentioned below) is sufficient.
Of course, if you use 1P for Mac and 1P for iOS you could choose to sync data in the Cloud so you'd have a copy there as well. I do sync to my iOS devices but I use local wifi sync. Nonetheless, it means that, in addition to my backups I also have copies of my 1P data on my iPhone and iPad.

Just to add to the backup options for off-site storage, I use CrashPlan. I do that mainly to preserve my photos, but my 1Password data also go there. It isn't free, but once it's set up, it works quickly in the background to update any additions or changes to my files.
Like Stephen_C, I use Time Machine and Carbon Copy Cloner for local backups.

Well i want a physically accessible Backup of my .agilekeychain that i can access from macs AND windows.
I heard that USB Sticks are not safe for this so i guess i would have to buy a cheap hard drive?

Hi @Julian89
A hard drive wouldn't be any more or less secure than a flash drive. If your goal is to back up your data, either will work. If you want to sync your data between Macs and Windows computers, we'd recommend Dropbox.
Thanks!
