1password 3.822 unable to recognize drop box already installed on macbook pro

I have a 1password 3.822 that has been installed for a while and I now want to use drop box for my syncing. I have installed dropbox on my Macbook pro. When I go to 1password to move the datafile to drop box, it gives me the message "Dropbox process is not running - Please make sure Dropbox is installed and running". This is odd since dropbox is installed and is open.

Can you help please?

Thank you

    Hi @Mounir‌

While 1Password 3 still does run in Yosemite you've stumbled upon one of the incompatibility issues. Since we last updated 1Password 3 Dropbox must have changed either or both the path and process name meaning we are successfully detecting it any more. It isn't a completely lost cause though as you can manually instruct 1Password 3 to move the 1Password.agilekeychain to Dropbox.

In the General tab of 1Password 3's preferences there is the Move to Dropbox... which you're already aware of. What you might not know though is if you right click on the path above it you will get a small menu with three options. The one that will interest you is the Move Data File to Another Folder.... You can use that to manually move the .agilekeychain into Dropbox and achieve the same goal.

Something to consider is you can use your licence key for 1Password 3 to obtain an upgrade price for 1Password 4/5 if you purchase 1Password directly from our store. If iCloud sync is important to you (I suspect not if you're running 1Password 3) you should be aware that iCloud support is sadly now limited to purchases made through Apple's stores, either their iTunes Store or Apple's Mac App Store (MAS).

Let us know if you have any problems or further questions.
