Syncing with dropbox

This is just a general question. I noted that in order to use dropbox for syncing, the setup requires me to divulge my master password to dropbox. Since I was under the assumption that my master password should only be known to me, I was wondering how secure the syncing process is. Does dropbox retain my MP for use each time syncing occurs?

Actually, you never have to divulge your master password to anyone, including Dropbox. You are the only one who ever has access to it, unless you yourself give it to someone else. Dropbox never asks for it.

I'm a bit puzzled why you think you have to give it to Dropbox. You do have to enter your Dropbox password, and when you want to open the vault from Dropbox during setup, you have to supply your master password. But you aren't giving it to Dropbox. It's being used locally to prove that you have access to the file on the cloud.
