adding spouse confusion
Hi...I can't seem to quite figure out how to share my license. I'm currently using the Mac App Store free trial, but before I buy I need to make sure the license will be shareable with our current configuration. I am running Yosemite, and she has Mavericks. We don't use, and don't plan to use the Mac App Store family share. What is my best option/procedure? Thanks!

I'm afraid the only way you'll be able to share 1P if you download from the Mac App Store in those circumstances will be if you and your spouse both use the same Apple ID to download 1P on your respective machines.
The alternative, if you're prepared to forgo the ability to sync by iCloud 1P data between 1P for Mac and 1P on iOS devices (1P for iOS is a separate product) is to buy 1P direct from the AgileBits store. Both versions support Dropbox and local wifi sync but only the Mac App Store version supports sync by iCloud (following changes made by Apple on the launch of OS X Yosemite). If you buy from AgileBits the licence can be shared by up to six family members living in the same household.

Thanks Stephen, so if I buy from AgileBits and sync to Dropbox instead of iCloud, I'm good to go under this scenario? Also, would we still be able to sync our iPad/iPhones to Dropbox? Just making sure I fully understand!

Hi @ldersch,
so if I buy from AgileBits and sync to Dropbox instead of iCloud, I'm good to go under this scenario?
Yep, you can share your license from our web store with up to 5 of your family members.
Also, would we still be able to sync our iPad/iPhones to Dropbox?
Dropbox sync is supported on iOS as well. :)
Please let us know if you have any other questions. We're always happy to help!

Your wife will need 1P4 (because 1P5 runs only under OS X Yosemite) but you can run 1P5. Both will be able to sync via Dropbox. (Note that the 1P5 licence you buy from the AgileBits store will work to licence as well 1P4 on your wife's machine. The licence file for 1P5 and 1P4 is the same.) Both versions can be downloaded from the AgileBits store.

Yes provided you download 1P for iOS from the app store accessed from your iPad/iPhones. If you're running iOS 8 you'll be able to download 1P5 for iOS (which is free but with an in-app purchase to enable pro features). If you're running only iOS 7 the Mac App Store should offer you 1P4 for iOS. Both should support Dropbox sync.

Hi @ldersch,
You're correct - a license for 1Password for Mac from our web store will allow you and your wife to use 1Password on all of your Macs (you'll receive a license file that you'll need to add to 1Password on each Mac). You can set up Dropbox sync in 1Password on each Mac.
If you're using 1Password 4 or 5 on your iOS devices, you can definitely use Dropbox sync. 1Password 5 for iOS is a free download, and offers free basic features (including Dropbox sync). If you would like to unlock the Pro Features in 1Password 5 for iOS, you can do so with an in-app purchase.
If you have more questions, just let us know! :)
