Hi-
I have 1password 5.0.2, OS 10.10.1 and the current version of Chrome. When I try to install the Chrome Extension, I get the following message:
"There was an error installing the Chrome extension. Please try again or contact us for assistance."

Is there a work around for this?

Thanks,
Pat

I've just tested installing the extension on Google Chrome 39.0.2171.99 and it went without a hitch.

    I would suggest trying following:

    • Purge the cache.
    • Reboot your machine

If you still have no joy, is it happening with other extensions?

I just did what you suggested and received the following message:
"1Password: Password Manager and Secure Wallet (extension ID "aomjjhallfgjeglblehebfpbcfeobpgk") is blocked by the administrator."

    Thanks!!

    Hi @pat_sc‌

Is this a work machine at all? Most of the references I've found so relate to Google Chrome on Windows machines and reference Group Policy. So it seems to be about a policy setting that Google Chrome honours. I can't find anything about this message on Macs though. I suspect it will be the same response with any extension you attempt to install i.e so not anything specific to our extension.

If you're the sole administrator of your machine you may need to consider exporting your bookmarks and starting with a fresh Google Chrome profile to try and remove the source of this error as my research so far hasn't found much at all regarding Macs.
