Not Syncing with Dropbox and 1Password 5
I have read through many of the sync issue posts and none of them seem to solve my issue. I updated a bunch of things in my 1password yesterday including my master password. When I tried to access my database later it wouldn't accept the new or old master password. I was able to back track to a back up, losing all of my updates, and get back in. How ever it had already sent the new master password (that it was not accepting) to both my iOS devices.
I was able to rebuild all of the changes I lost on the mac version of 1password, but it still is not updating locally to dropbox. So uninstalling and reinstalling on iOS is still syncing with the incorrect info. I'm not sure what to do next.

Hi @cscheer,
I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble keeping things synced up lately. I've got a few basic things that we want to check regarding Dropbox first, before we get into the serious troubleshooting:
- Please ensure that Dropbox is installed and running on your computer
- Check that you are logged in with the same account on all computers and devices
- Confirm that Dropbox sync is selected in 1Password > Preferences > Sync on your Mac
- Confirm that Dropbox is selected in Settings > Sync on your iOS device
- Confirm that both your Mac and iOS device are reading from the same file path in Dropbox.
If all of those items check out, let's run a test and see where things are getting tripped up:
- Create a test entry on your Mac ("Test, Mac") and add some data
- Create a test entry on each of your iOS devices ("Test, iPhone/iPad") and add some data
- Does "Test for Mac" show up on either of your iOS devices?
- Does "Test for iPhone" and/or "Test for iPad" show up on your Mac?
- Log in to the Dropbox website and click on the 1Password.html file inside your 1Password.agilekeychain folder
- Enter your Master Password
- Do either or any of your test entries show up in your database here?
Please let me know the results of this little experiment - once we have a better idea of where things are going sideways, we should be able to get this straightened out simply for you :)

None of the tests worked. The files that are being saved in the dropbox folder are from several days ago and are not being updated to reflect the changes that I have made since I did the restore to back up. I have confirmed this inside the package contents saved only my dropbox, and none of the imbedded files have been updated since that restore.

Hi @cscheer
As a precaution we disable sync when you restore a previous backup so my suggestion would be to check the status of sync on your main computer. Having established the status of Dropbox sync on your main machine the next aspect to consider is how old the database restored is in contrast to your existing .agilekeychain. If there are multiple timestamps in your .agilkeychain that are newer than those from the restored database you might find information you want to keep is being overwritten by bad data in your .agilekeychain (hopefully that makes sense to you).
If you're confident that the contents of your restored vault are those you want to see on your other machines and devices then I would probably recommend removing the old .agilekeychain and having 1Password create a new one. That way you now exactly what is in your .agilekeychain without any concern. If you do this you will then need to re-establish sync on your other devices as while the name of the Dropbox file won't change, 1Password will know it's a new .agilekeychain and react out of safety. You can confirm it's okay and re-establish sync.
If you have any questions or concerns please do ask and we'll do our best to answer or reassure you before you do anything.
