Fresh install, not importing DB from Dropbox.
I have a Power Mac, iMac, and a new MBP but I can't seem to get 1P to accept the import from dropbox on the MBP. It keeps telling me the master password is incorrect. But its the same one I'm using on my other machines. I've tried completely removing 1P and doing fresh installs multiple times, no luck. Any ideas?
I have a valid license on the MBP, its happy when I imported the license key.
The only way I could get 1P to work was to create a new vault. I just can't get it to use my .pif file I have on dropbox.

I am by no means an expert on Dropbox sync but there's something that sounds odd to me. Why are you putting a *.pif file in Dropbox (which is an insecure, unencrypted file containing all your personal data)? Are you saying that simply setting up the MBP to sync with your Dropbox account doesn't work at all?
If there is still a problem please tell us your 1P version number(s) and your OS X version number(s).

I have my system setup to sync with dropbox is that not the proper thing to do, where are my backups going then ? I see the backup was completed today

all I want is the be able to use the Database from my PowerMac on the new MBP, what is the best option for doing that and they keep in sync?

I'm understanding this so far. Your MBP has been properly set up to sync via Dropbox but is not downloading your 1P data put in Dropbox by your other devices. Is that correct? If it is correct just try disabling Dropbox sync on your MBP and re-enabling it to see if that kicks Dropbox into action.
It's perfectly proper to set your systems to sync 1P data via Dropbox: there's nothing at all wrong with that. However, your backups have nothing to do with your 1P sync data in Dropbox. 1P makes those backups locally on each machine on which its installed. Dropbox is, or can be, used by 1P to sync 1P data between your machines.
I am still confused by the reference to the .pif file on Dropbox and you have still not told us the version numbers I requested in my previous post.

Before you proceed forward there are a couple of things we need to clarify (I believe).
You say you're running 1Password 5 on all of your Macs. That requires OS X 10.10 (AKA Yosemite) but Apple haven't made a Power Mac for quite some time, in fact I don't think they've used those titles since they changed to Intel CPUs. Can you confirm what you're running please.
As for Dropbox, if you have a
.1pif
file or folder in there then you need to delete that right now! As Stephen_C stated it's an unencrypted format we use for exporting your vault. All you would ever want to see in your Dropbox space is a.agilekeychain
folder. After we've got everything else sorted I would strongly advise you to change all of your passwords if you have indeed had a .1pif lying exposed in your Dropbox account.Once we better know what we're dealing with I will probably recommend updating to the newest version of 1Password (we've released 1Password 5.1 for Mac today), disabling Dropbox sync and removing the old .agilekeychain. After that we'll create a new keychain and I believe everything should be fine at that point. The precise instructions we can go through once we know exactly what you have on all of your Macs.
