Not Syncing with iCloud

Hi there,

I cannot see any post on this specific issue.

I had 1P on my iMac already but wanted to change it to my wife's account. So I change iCloud on the computer but it kept all my data in 1Password. So I renamed the 1Password folder to 2BUA8C4S2C.com.agilebits.onepassword-osx-helper_OLD ... deleted 1Password, reinstalled 1Password and it asked to set up iCloud to find new data. I select iCloud sync and it says the data will be merged with data in iCloud but no data comes across.

How can I get my wife's iCloud 1P data onto this computer/1P app?

Do you and your wife share the same Apple ID? If not, I believe you can't sync 1P data using iCloud.

If you do share the same Apple ID, and you both use the Mac App Store version of 1P5 (as opposed to the version from the AgileBits store), it sounds to me that you didn't follow the correct procedure to start over on your Mac and that may be the problem. (Just be aware that procedure is effectively going to lose all your own data—so you will need to be sure you're going to be able to sync with your wife's machine if you do it.)

In passing I wonder whether you've considered the multiple vaults feature of 1P5. I know people often use that to share data with their spouse.

Let's take a step back here. I'll need a bit more detail to be sure that we're on the same page:

• What are the version numbers of 1Password and your operating system for all computers and devices running 1Password?
• Which data is on which computer right now?
• Do you and your wife share an AppleID for iCloud sync?
• Are you wanting to merge your data with your wife's or (as Stephen_C suggests) start fresh on your computer with just your wife's data?

The more detail you can provide, the more quickly we'll be able to get you sorted out! :)
