Upgrading from 1Password version 3 to the latest.
I just did an upgrade to Yosemite, and my old version of 1Password is no longer compatible. So I upgraded to 1password 5. In setting up, I'm asked whether I'm new to 1password or I've used it before. I click "I've used 1password before", and and am then asked where my data is - on my mac, or from backup. Neither one works for me - "on my mac" asks for .agilekeychain or .oppvault file, and for "from backup", when I point to my backup (1P 2015-01-27 145048 (733 items) Keychain Backup) it's not recognized. Right now I can't access any of the passwords (they look to be in .plist files).

Hi @bkappe,
I'm sorry you're having trouble migrating to 1Password 5 on your Mac!
Had you been syncing the old version of 1Password with Dropbox? If so, getting your data into 1Password 5 should be extremely easy: After choosing "I've used 1password before", choose the option to for Dropbox and follow the prompts.
If you didn't sync 1Password 3 via Dropbox, you should still be able to use a backup file from 1Password 3, but it will take a few extra steps. A backup file from 1Password 3 should have a name that ends in
.agilekeychain_zip
and you can use that to restore your data in 1Password 5 by following these steps:- Rename the backup file to: 1Password.agilekeychain.zip
- Double-click that file to unzip it, and it will now be named 1Password.agilekeychain
- Open 1Password 5 and choose I've used 1password before
- Choose to restore from your 1Password.agilekeychain file
You should now have all your data in 1Password 5. Please let us know how it all goes and if you have any questions. Thanks!
