How long is a license good for?

Hi,

My 1Password trial is up, and I am considering purchasing a license, but I can't find any information about how long the license is good for. How long does a license last?

Also, it says if I purchase a license that I can continue to use 1Password "without limitations". Can you clarify what this means? If I don't purchase a license, does this mean I can continue to use 1Password, just under certain restrictions?

Thank you.

A licence will last for as a long a time as you use 1P: 1P licences don't expire. Of course, if there is a major version update (which doesn't usually happen very often) you may want to pay for a new or upgraded licence—but, so long as your current version of 1P is still compatible with the version of OS X that you're running you can continue to use your current licence. (Note in any event that the update from 1P4 to 1P5 was in fact free.)

If you continue to use 1P in trail mode then after 30 days you won't be able to add new items (I believe)—although you'll still have access to your existing ones. (1P will never shut you out of access to your 1P data, in other words.)

In addition to not being able to add new records when the trial expires, you won't be able to edit existing records either.
