Multiple Master Passwords for Shared Vault?
I'd like to share a Vault with multiple people, but none of us want to reveal our master passwords. Is there a way to create a shared Vault that can be unlocked with multiple master passwords? The other users with whom I'd be sharing are already frustrated by the "complexity" of 1PW, so I'm reticent to ask them to use a different master password than they use for their existing vaults.
If this is not currently possible, maybe it could be accomplished by allowing users to share the password for one Vault in a different Vault somehow.
Thanks for the great software!

Hi @caddyzig ,
It just so happens that Multiple Vaults were designed specifically so that you do not have to share your own Master Password with others!
The above link includes all the details that you'll ever need to know about multiple vaults, but here's a basic overview of how it works:
- Each user sets up 1Password with their own super-secure, secret Master Password.
- One user creates a secondary vault (1Password menu > New Vault) with a different secure Master Password.
- That vault gets shared via Dropbox.
- Each user adds that vault to their copy of 1Password by entering the shared vault's Master Password to unlock it.
It is important to note that this is perhaps the only time that a user will need to enter a secondary vault's Master Password. 1Password for Mac is set up in such a way that unlocking the primary vault using the Master Password will also unlock all secondary vaults, giving you quick and easy access to all of your data, without the need to remember the Master Password of each and every one of your vaults.
So, in a sense, a secondary vault can indeed be unlocked by different Master Passwords. :)
I hope this helps to explain things, but I know multiple vaults can be a bit confusing when you're just getting started, so please let me know if you have any further questions!

Oh, that's great news! Thanks for the quick response, Megan.
The part I didn't realize was that a secondary Vault could be unlocked using the primary Vault's password. Thanks for including this feature; it will be extremely useful.
