Chrome Extension Not Prompting To Save Login

It was working up until a couple of months ago and then suddenly it stopped.

I've loathed having to forum post about this, so haven't taken care of it, but it's driving me absolutely insane.

I don't know where to begin troubleshooting this. I've uninstalled and reinstalled both the extension as well as the application, neither have resolved the issue.

There's just simply no longer any notices about saving passwords. Nothing. When I open the extension and click the + icon to save a new login, nothing happens.

What can I do? I wish I could write a support email somewhere.

    I'm sorry the 1Password extension is no longer working in Chrome! Our forums are currently the fastest way to get in touch with us, but if you'd prefer, you can email us at support@agilebits.com for assistance with this problem (if you do, it will help if you can include a link to this thread so we can "connect the dots").

    However, if you'd like to start troubleshooting this issue right now, there are some things you can try (I'm assuming you're using 1Password 4 or 5, but please let us know if you're using an older version). First, please check some settings in 1Password:

    • Open the main 1Password app and go to the menu for 1Password > Preferences.
    • Select the General tab and make sure "Always keep 1Password mini running" is enabled.
    • Select the Browser tab and make sure "Automatically ask to save new Logins" is enabled.

    If those options were already enabled, let's try a quick test in Chrome:

    • Go to twitter.com (if you're already logged in, please log out).
    • Enter some random/incorrect text in the username and password fields.
    • Click the Log In button.

    Does 1Password ask to save a new Login item? If it does, then it sounds like the problem is only happening for certain sites. In that case, would you be able to let us know a couple URLs for sites where 1Password hasn't prompted you to save a new Login?

    On the other hand, if 1Password doesn't ask to save a new Twitter login, something might be blocking the 1Password extension from working. Do you have any other extensions installed in Chrome? If so, and if you disable all extensions except for 1Password, does it work?
