passwords for websites that have apps

in Mac

i created a password for Skype. but when i go to the app itself it does not fill in the information. does 1password only work within websites and not the apps itself?

    Yes, 1Password for Mac cannot supply credentials to native apps.

    The iOS version can do so, under certain circumstances, but the developer of the app would have to include some special code to allow 1Password to communicate with it.

    Lots of users would like to see 1Password be able to supply their credentials to apps like Skpe. Since I don't work there, I have no knowledge about what challenges implementing this would create.

    Unfortunately that isn't a feature yet in 1Password for Mac. It's only available on 1Password for iOS at the moment (for certain apps, whose developers have opted into it). It's a feature we'd love to bring to the Mac. At the moment there are some technical and security challenges in doing so. It's something we look at every now and again to see if the landscape has changed.
