Password non updating

Hello,

If I edit a LOGIN in 1password for MAC, it is correctly saved and stored, but if I click on SHOW PASSWORD ("rivela" in the Italian version) it keeps showing the old password. Also if I click COPY PASSWORD ("copia") in the Italian version, it copies the old password. The only way I have to see the new password is to click con EDIT and to simulate that I want to modify the login, in that case in the password field I will find the new password.
How can I solve this issue that makes the app almost useless?

Is there any way to send an email to Support? This is an issue that makes the app unusable.

Hi @Sasmimo,

I'm sorry you're having trouble changing the password in your Login item! Our forum support is actually a bit faster than email support right now, and I'm guessing you would like this solved as fast as possible, but we can certainly move this to email if necessary.

To make sure I understand the problem, are you saying that you see one password when you view a Login item in the main 1Password app, but you see a completely different password when you click the Edit button? (If I've misunderstood, please let us know.)

I don't know how something like that would be possible, but if the password is different once you click Edit, can you please try this:

• Open the main 1Password app, go to the View menu, and disable the option for Conceal Passwords.
• Find one of the Login items that is having the problem you described.
• Look at the password field - does it show the old password or the new password?
• Click the Edit button.
• Look at the same password field again - does it show the old password or the new password?
• Click the Save button.
• Which password is shown in the password field now?

Please let us know how it goes. If it's still a problem, is this happening for just one specific Login item, or more than one? Thanks!

Hi,

the problem is that the password that is shown in the main 1password app is always an OLD password. If I click EDIT, I see the latest password, that's the correct one.
I tried the procedure you described. The password field shows the old password. If I click edit, it shows the new one.
I have tried reinstalling the app and resetting iCloud, but nothing changes. This is happening for all login items anytime I make a change in the password. In addition to this, on mobile apps, I only see the old passwords.

I'd like to confirm something please.

When you edit an item you should have an edit button in the bottom right hand corner. In English it says Edit and in Italian it says Modifica.

While you're editing an item you have two buttons. Left to right they are Cancel and Save in English and Annulla and Salva in Italian.

If you don't click on Save or Salva though and instead switch focus to another item or close 1Password the edits are in limbo. You haven't confirmed you want to keep the alterations as you haven't click on save but we can't afford to throw away the changes as they may be needed. So the item remains as it was when you view it but if you enter editing mode again the edits are still there. The edits wouldn't sync either as they haven't been saved.

The easiest way to know if this is true is an item with unsaved edits has a different button label. In English it says Resume Editing and Riprendi le Modifiche.

Does this explain what you're seeing at all?
