Password protected site shuts down when 1Password closes

I have 1Password set to close after 5 minutes. When this occurs, if I have a website open that required a password to enter, that website shuts down. For example, I use an online yoga website that requires my password. When 1Password closes, that site backs me out. This is very annoying; is there any way to stop this from happening. It happens on any site for which I use 1Password to access, including my web-based email. I would prefer to NOT extend the time that 1Password stays open, as that begins to defeat the security of 1Password. Thanks!!

    That's very strange, and to be honest it doesn't sound like something that should be possible. 1Password can help log into websites (and fill some other types of forms), and prompts to save or update Login items, but otherwise has nothing to do with your web browsing. And it certainly has no ability to control how long to stay logged into a web site.

    1Password for Mac doesn't actually have an option to close after a certain amount of time, although it has options for when it automatically locks itself. From the main 1Password app on your Mac, go to the menu for 1Password > Preferences, then click the Security tab. You'll see some auto-lock settings there, including one for "Lock after computer is idle for __ minutes". Is that the one that is set to 5 minutes? If so, you would need to stop using your Mac for 5 minutes for that to happen, and at that point 1Password would lock itself, so you would need to enter your master password in the main app or browser extension. But again, that has no connection to whether or not you stay logged into a certain website.

    If you're still having trouble, can you please let us know a few more details:

    • What version of Mac OS X are you running?
    • What exact version of the 1Password app is installed? (From the main 1Password app, go to the menu for 1Password > About 1Password)
    • Are you using the web store version or the Mac App Store version of 1Password?
    • What web browser are you using, and what version?
    • What version of the 1Password extension is installed in your browser?
    • When you say "that site backs me out" do you mean you're no longer logged into the site (but the site is still open in your web browser), or do you mean the window for that site closes?
