saving an excel login

I have an Excel file that requires a password to get into and I'd like to put that into 1Password. Can I do that? How?

    Because 1Password can only (semi-) automatically fill in web based logins (i.e., fill them in when you ask it to) and because it can't work directly with OS X apps you have to copy and paste your stored password into the Excel file, I'm afraid. That doesn't mean, of course, that you can't store the password in 1P—but just that you can't trigger 1P to fill in the Excel password (for example by using the ⌘\ keyboard shortcut).

    Stephen_C is correct. We can store the password for you to allow for easy copying and pasting but we can't currently interact with the login window directly. I shall record your question though as a vote for this request.
