Mac Mini, We've Got a Problem
Ok, I wasn't able to find an email address to ask my question anywhere
After upgrading to the latest version of 1password through the master, overtime I go to open 1password now I get an error message saying it has opened the wrong application, and is opening the version I have backed up via CCC
Problem is, I don't actually have that disk attached at the moment, and more frustratingly, previously it has never been a problem.
So currently, I am unable to use 1password on the mac.
I have uninstalled and re downloaded from the app store, to no avail
Assistance appreciated
Cheers

When you get that error the error message should tell you the location of the "other" version of 1P5. If you don't have the backup disk attached (and, for good measure, you have rebooted) you should not have the problem so long as you don't have any other version of 1P on your local disk (for example, in Downloads or in Trash).
If the message is telling you the other version is on your backup disk and that disk is not attached please see if a reboot cures the problem.

Having the same issue. I don't want to unmount and mount my clones from time-to-time. 1pw should be able to remember where the application lives and launch the correct one without my intervention (other than perhaps confirming a preference setting).

No doubt: but the difficulty is that this is an OS X Yosemite problem, not a 1P problem. If you wish to know more about it please read this AgileBits post and follow the links from it.

Hi @Paddington and @rcr,
I do apologize for the trouble that you've been having here, and I hope that Stephen's posts have helped you out. He's right - this is a peculiarity of Yosemite, and we can do little about it except to advise you to ensure that you only have one version of 1Password on your system at a time.
I wish I had a better answer for you here, but please let me know if you have any questions!

Thanks, followed the other posts, but the problem was the backup drive wasn't attached, so it would sit their for 5 minutes and then return an unable to open error. I have been running CCC for the past 1.5 months without issue and this started with the last upgrade. To solve the problem I unchecked 1password in CCC, opened 1password to ensure was working correctly, which is appears to be, then set the CCC settings back to where they were originally (no exclusions), still no problem opening 1password. I appreciate that the conventional wisdom appears to be something to do with apples operating system, not sure how that holds though if the drive was not even attached so no duplicate program to be found
Cheers

Hi @Paddington ,
Thanks for following up. Now, I'm not a developer, so there are some aspects about this issue that I don't understand fully, but it does seem odd to me that you're seeing this error without the drive attached. I'm wondering if a closer look at your system might give us a few more clues.
I'd like to ask you to create a Diagnostics Report from your Mac:
https://support.1password.com/diagnostics/mac-4.htmlThen attach the entire file to an email to us: support+forum@agilebits.com
Please do not post your Diagnostics Report in the forums, but please do include a link to this thread in your email, along with your forum handle so that we can "connect the dots" when we see your Diagnostics Report in our inbox.
You should receive an automated reply from our BitBot assistant with a Support ID number. Please post that number here so we can quickly track down the Report and ensure that it is dealt with quickly. :)
I'm not certain that we'll be able to learn anything else from the logs in the Report, but it's worth a peek!
