1Password Updater keeps opening to install 5.3 [multiple copies of 1P were running]
I updated from 1PW 5.1 to 5.3 yesterday. Now the 1PW Updater keeps opening saying I'm running 5.1 and asking if I want to update to 5.3. If I open 1PW I get this error message:
"The system launched an incorrect version of 1Password mini.
Instead of '/Applications/1Password 5.app/Contents/LoginItems' it started '/Volumes/WD 1 TB My Book/Applications/1Password 5.app/Contents/Library/LoginItems'."
If I click "Dismiss", then 1PW opens and "About 1Password" shows that I'm running 5.3 (Build 530032) -- the latest.
What is going on and how can I get this straightened out so either 5.3 is correctly installed or the Updater doesn't keep opening, or both?

p.s. checking 1PW itself for updates is says I'm running the latest version. ??? ... thanks for any suggestions.

Hi @fendertweed ,
It sounds to me like you have multiple versions of 1Password installed on your system. Yosemite is detecting a copy of 1Password here:
/Volumes/WD 1 TB My Book/Applications/1Password 5.app/Contents/Library/LoginItems
We have an article in our Knowledgebase that explains how to resolve this:
How to remove multiple, conflicting copies of 1Password from your system.
5.3 is the latest version of 1Password. I'm guessing that the version on the 'WD 1 TB My Book' is version 5.1, which is why you're seeing the conflicting update information. Dealing with the extra version of 1Password should get rid of this message too.

That solved it, thanks!

Glad to hear things are running smoothly @fendertweed
As this seems to be resolved I'm going to close this thread but if you have any questions or issues in the future don't hesitate to post!
