One-time passwords

I’m trying to move as many of my important accounts, e.g. FastMail, Google etc, over to using two-factor authentication. My guide to what might be supported is the list here.

Should all the services with software support work with 1Password? I've tried enabling my Apple account but can only use the SMS code option.

Hi @SteveH,

Not all sites listed there under "Software Implementation" will work with 1Password.

1Password only supports sites using TOTP (this is the same protocol that Google Authenticator supports). TOTP is fairly popular, so many sites under "Software Implementation" will be using it, but not all.

In a case like Apple, they have a custom implementation that uses SMS and/or direct integration with iOS devices.

It sure would be useful to have such a list ... but since sites are implementing TOTP all the time, I imagine it would be a real challenge to curate. ;)
