Ebay Login Issue - "Oops, that's not a match"
Just changed my password for eBay to something a bit more secure using the password generator in 1Password. Password was accepted ok, and, if I manually copy and paste, it works fine. However, if I use the Chrome browser extension to login to eBay I always get the "Oops, that's not a match" error. If I copy the password from the login and paste it in, it works fine. Thanks for the help!!

Hi @Abicio,
You haven't said much about where you are running 1Password so I'm going to have to be quite general here (1Password for Mac & Windows are different for example). On the Mac, if you view a Login item from the main 1Password window you will see a button titled show web form details. I'd like you to click that button please as it's the web form details that we're interested in.
When you create a Login item from within your browser 1Password has to make educated guesses at what information on the page represents your username and password. Normally this is very easy, if a page has two input fields and one is of type
password
there isn't a lot of deduction required. Some pages though have a lot of fields, most of which aren't visible or obvious to the user and that can make things a bit more complicated. Why I am I explaining this? I suspect that 1Password has incorrectly identified what field on the page represents your password so that when you updated the Login item with your new password, it did record the new password (as you know copy and paste works) but that it's trying to fill the new password into the wrong field. So in the web form details section you will see that two lines are flagged, one with the silhouette of a person and another with the silhouette of a key. If you reveal the passwords is there a line that still has your old password and isn't the one flagged with the key?
Depending on your level of comfort the easiest way to resolve this is possibly creating a brand new Login item from scratch as it will be a task in 1Password that you're comfortable with. You don't have to though. The alternative is to correct the web form details section so that the correct field is labelled as being your password. Having taken a look at Ebay's login page though you may simply want to create a new one as the page seems quite simple and a new Login item should hopefully mean no issues going forward.
If you find a new Login item isn't working please do let us know. I would wonder at that point if Chrome might be saving details for you and we can address that if that's the case.
