Credit Card, filling in Credit card info, why two entries, Logins & Credit Cards, instead of one?

I'm just asking about the difference between the Logins list and the Credit Card list. Can't log in from credit card list, login doesn't have details the credit card list contains; therefore two separate entries must be made.

  • Hey @robert_osgood! Ah, good question. Login items are for login details, like a username, password, and the website it belongs to. When you double-click them (and you have the 1Password extension enabled), you'll be taken to the website and logged in automatically. With Credit Card items, you can simply fill credit card fields on a checkout page or any other webpage you may need to use the data. If you're adding a credit card site like Discover to 1Password, just use a Login item rather than a specialized one, since the Credit Cards category is specifically used for filling card details.

This knowledge base article has a few additional details on using the Credit Cards category:

    Hope that helps! :)
