I was 'forced' into paying $14.99 today!!
I was 'forced' into paying $14.99 today after already paying for the pro app 3 years ago after my details were locked away.. I found myself at the bank needing to make a transaction with details that were no longer visible so my only 'instant' solution was to pay $14.99!!
I have owned the app for years and I am sure that I paid the money in 2013. The reinstall option failed to solve my problem.
I want a refund and if this is going to be a recurring payment every couple of years I would like to know about it before I am forced into making payments again!

@esizela: Sorry for the confusion! That sounds really frustrating.
Now, there is absolutely no reason why you would need to purchase the Pro Features upgrade to access any information stored in 1Password for iOS. The free version can access all items sync'd or migrated from somewhere else; you're simply unable to create new items (or modify existing ones) apart from Logins, Identities, Credit Cards, and Secure Notes. But 1Password never locks you out of your data, regardless of the platform or your license status.
To be clear, 1Password for iOS is not a subscription. We've had exactly one paid upgrade there, and that was version 4 in November 2012. If you purchased that version (or later), you're grandfathered into the Pro Features in later releases — if you use the same Apple ID. If, however, you used a different Apple ID or bought an older version, it would be a (one time) paid upgrade as you're describing.
While we can't offer refunds (we don't have any access to App Store purchase information, since it's owned and operated by Apple), I encourage you to check your records, as you'll have received an email receipt for the purchase (or you can look it up in iTunes). If there has been some error with the App Store, that will give you key transaction information you'll need to get it resolved with Apple. Please let me know what you find, and if you have any other questions!

These were both using the same Apple ID, I can see them both on the same page of my purchase history when logged in with my Apple ID in itunes (see image - today's purchase is at the top as the most recent and the older payment is 1st in the list of previous purchases).
Also, I was locked out with a big button linking to the 'Pro Features' where I used to have the extended list of categories - bank accounts being one of them...

@wkleem: That's a good guess, but the date in the original description (and the screenshot followup) doesn't fit that.
@esizela: Aha! Thank you (most of all, for redacting any personal info)!
Version 4.2.1 is definitely eligible for Pro Features in both version 5 and 6. As far as I know, there are only two possible causes for this:
- The app was installed using a different Apple ID (even if you're logged into the same one right now, the App Store won't validate the purchase if it doesn't match both for the install receipt and the in-app purchase restore).
- Some unknown App Store glitch.
Number 1 would have been easy to test: just backup your data, reinstall the app, and then try to restore the purchase. But since you've already re-purchased it, the best thing to do would be to contact Apple directly so they can sort this out for you. You absolutely shouldn't have to pay for the Pro upgrade a second time on the same Apple ID since your initial purchase in 2013. Please let us know how it turns out!
