ITunes and other ”non-websites”

Hi @ulbn
I'd recommend adding these to 1Password as Login type items, even if they do not have a website. In the case of Apple IDs there is actually a website:
So, for iTunes / your Apple ID, I'd recommend saving the Login item using that website.
I hope that helps!

Yes I have tried according to your suggestion, but sorry, it did not work!

- First I opened 1Password 7 using the master password, then accessed the window to enter new login (new object). See Screen print a) Enter the required info as indicated
- Opened iTunes, clicked on "show account" from drop down menu at the top
- Entered my mailadress (user name) in the first po-up window (b)
- Entered the known password for my Apple ID in the second pop-up menu (c)
It didn´t work... what have I done wrong? I also tried to enclose 3 screen prints…but failed there too

@ulbn - ah, OK, thanks for the clarification. Ben said:

What he meant was that, in the case of Apple specifically, you should use the preferred method for capturing Login items -- allowing the 1Password extension to do it. Sorry if that wasn't more clear.
Most of the items you'll create in 1Password can ONLY be created using the plus button in the app -- credit cards, passports, membership cards, all these must be created using the plus button and then manually entering your data. But Logins are a bit of a special category. For those, you should actually visit the website in question, type in your credentials (into the website, not 1Password), and then click the Submit or Login button to allow the 1Password pop-up to offer to save the Login item. When you do it that way, 1Password captures ALL of the fields, including (often) ones hidden from the user, including things like the SPECIFIC sign-in URL. Amazon's sign-in URL isn't amazon.com, it's
https://www.amazon.com/ap/signin?_encoding=UTF8&ignoreAuthState=1&openid.assoc_handle=usflex&openid.claimed_id=http%3A%2F%2Fspecs.openid.net%2Fauth%2F2.0%2Fidentifier_select&openid.identity=http%3A%2F%2Fspecs.openid.net%2Fauth%2F2.0%2Fidentifier_select&openid.mode=checkid_setup&openid.ns=http%3A%2F%2Fspecs.openid.net%2Fauth%2F2.0&openid.ns.pape=http%3A%2F%2Fspecs.openid.net%2Fextensions%2Fpape%2F1.0&openid.pape.max_auth_age=0&openid.return_to=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.com%2F%3Fref_%3Dnav_custrec_signin&switch_account=
-- and if you create a login manually, you don't capture all of that. Please visit https://appleid.apple.com/ and allow the 1Password extension to capture the data for you. See if that helps.

Thanks a lot, Lars! I think I’ve got it right now, i order to get it to work now - thanks to your more detailed instructions.
I also had a brief impulse to disable the two-factorcauthentication for my apple ID, but that is probable not a godd idea, eh?

@ulbn - glad to hear that worked for you! I...can't really advise you about whether to use 2FA on your Apple account, other than to say that 1Password definitely supports you in that -- you can use 1Password as your authenticator, if you would like. :)
