Extension on Mac stealing focus from browser, making it impossible to use Firefox or Chrome

When you click the browser to do anything, the extension is "stealing" the focus of the browser, trying to open the 1Password app. This makes using the browser impossible. Only solution is to close ...

I'm sorry that 1Password was taking focus from your browser. This is a known issue with the latest version of 1Password that our developers are currently working to resolve and involves the connection between the desktop app and 1Password in the browser.

You should be able to get things working by using the following steps:

  1. Open and unlock 1Password for Mac.
  2. Make sure that you are signed into the app: How to add another 1Password account to the apps and browser extension
  3. Click on 1Password next to the  in the menu bar.
  4. Click Settings.
  5. Click Browser.
  6. Toggle the "Connect with 1Password in the browser" setting.
