3 years agoFace ID Not Working [Fixed. Please see the approved answer for details.]

I have upgraded to 1Password 8 for Mac. Yesterday I had to re-set my iPhone settings and since then I cannot use Face ID to open 1Password. I have re-installed the 1Password app, checked to make sure 1Password is approved for using Face ID on my phone. Can you advise?

I recently performed a Reset All Settings on my iPhone with IOS 16.3.
After the reset, the FaceID do not work with 1Password. Despite logging in with password the first round, subsequent logins with FaceID will always fail. iOS will show that the FaceID has occurred successfully with the Green Tick after recognising me. However, 1Password will give an error and still requires me to sign-in with password.
I have tried to disable and enable FaceID in 1Password Security setting and in IOS Security setting. All do work.
Anyone able to help?

I use Keeper as default password manager to auto fill 1password 🤣 I might keep Keeper as it’s simply working and simpler

Running 1Password v8 on iOS 16.3 on iPhone 12 Pro Max and Face ID still not working. When is this expected to be fixed? I’ve already switched to NordPass but I would prefer 1Password but no Face ID unlock is definitely a deal breaker.

Also here it it is not working for a long time now. I got it to work for 1 day when reinstalling 1PW8 on my iPhone. But I had to set all my settings new again.
I really hope the new version will get released soon as the Beta is still full. - Former Member
Still no fix. I paid my annual invoice yesterday. I feel like a chump. (I signed up to make this comment and saved my password in apple keychain. Who would have the patience to type in their master password 3 times just to save a new login?)

I’ve been unable to use FaceID for the past 3 months. How can I resolve this?

@BryanS I ended up toggling this off and back on and seems to have fixed the Face ID not working within the Safari Extension for me. Thanks!

@YourNameHereX - Settings -> Face ID & Passcode -> Select "Other Apps" from the USE FACE ID FOR: section. 1Password is likely the top entry on the Other Apps page. See if that isn't flagged off.
If so, turn it on, to enable Face ID. Now when you open 1Password and log in, you should see Face ID not locked out in settings. I'm pretty confident that this won't fix the issues with Face ID working but 1P not unlocking, but you may need this step for the fix to work for you, when it comes out anyway. (also doesn't hurt to try. ;) Good Luck!
