iTerm2 - 1password integration broken
MacOS: 15.3 (24D60), Apple M1 Pro
iTerm2: Build 3.5.11
1password: 1Password for Mac 8.10.58 (81058041)
Something changed in the last week, and this integration is failing now. I was on vacation for a few days and didn't use my laptop. I don't think there were any version updates for iTerm2 or 1password, which is odd since I also made no config changes. I have been using this integration for some time with no issues (a year or more). The items in my vault are properly tagged 'iTerm2'. I have always shad two active accounts, one for my work, and one personal. The personal account uses a vault password, and the work account uses Okta auth integration. There are password that I use in both accounts, but I especially need the work-account access. I have rebooted the Mac and also fully logged out and back in to each of the two accounts.
Starting today, when I try to access credentials, first I'm presented with a 'Enter your 1Password master password' prompt, which is new to me in this context. I enter my password (have tried both the personal vault creds, and the okta creds since it is not clear which account creds this is requesting), and then I'm presented with this error: '[ERROR] <DATE TIME> multiple accounts found. Use the --account flag or set the OP_ACCOUNT environment variable to select an account.'. This error seems to be from the OP CLI, which I assume is called directly from
I have tried setting both export OP_ACCOUNT='my.1password.com' and export OP_ACCOUNT='my-company.1password.com' in the shell and trying again, but the error is persistent and the workflow returns me back to requesting the password each time. I have not found a way out of this loop. Of course I can go grab the password from the app, or I can use the op cli to grab it, and then use the password as needed, but the easy integration continues to be broken.
Any ideas? Please help me figure this out, or where to investigate ... I've tried everything I can think of here ...

Hello pcor877! 👋
I'm sorry that the 1Password integration in iTerm2 isn't working. This integration wasn't created by 1Password and isn't maintained by us. I do see that someone has already reported the issue to the developer of iTerm2 and I would recommend reaching out to the developer to report the issue to them as well so that they can investigate further and gather any information needed from your end.
For the time being, you can still fill your Mac admin password at sudo prompts in iTerm2 by using Universal Autofill: Use Universal Autofill in apps and browsers on your Mac

Thank you, that was a very helpful reply. I am surprised I missed that bug report (I promise I searched before posting anything, lol)
