New Feature "Expiry date" - Where is the alert?
I would like to know if I just don't understand it or if it doesn't work.
I have added a date to an item and set an alarm for the day before.
But no alarm appears on the day of the alarm?!
I can only see that the item is expiring or about to expire when I navigate to the item itself or look in the watchtower.
However, I understand "alert" to mean something else.
My expectation is that there is either a notification from 1Password or I at least get some kind of indication on the main screen, e.g. a newly introduced category "expired" with a red 1 on it or something.
Is there anything else planned, as I don't find it very helpful as it is now.
Hi Ronso,
I'm sorry that the "alert" is expected only in the item details view or the Watchtower section currently. I understand it might be ignored easily.
Therefore, I shared your feedback and filed a feature request accordingly for our team to improve the feature. Thank you for bringing it to our attention.

Hi kevin_li -
Could you confirm whether or not these alerts would be a part of event pipelines with your SIEM integrations, such as with Datadog or Sumologic?

Hi Kevin,
I would like to emphasize the importance of this feature again.
I am currently in the process of convincing our company to use 1Password's Password Manager. One argument I have made is the storage of expiration dates for various SSL keys etc.. However, if these are not visible at first glance or no email information is sent when they expire, this is not really a feature that I can put forward. Thanks for putting this forward to your team
regards Chris

Absolutly. We use API Tokens for multiple Environments. Forgetting to Look into the WatchTower and getting errors because of expired secrets is a pain.

Similar known issue with the Alert drop-menu even appearing:

I saw your topic before creating this one.
While your topic is about a bug of the option to set an alert is not appearing and/or having a format issue, this thread is about how to get notified when an alert expires.
Me (and it seems other members, too) would like to know if there is a way to get a hint or notification when an item has been expired or will expire.
Right now, there seems to be no way except going to the item itself or to watchtower and this is neither user friendly nor does this cool feature makes sense without it.

^ (Note: The above thread now has a solution marked that explains the conclusions.)

Yeah, this is a great point.
The “alert” should be obvious.: A popup, or email, or red flag of some kind is needed. If the alert/alarm is not obvious, if you have to look into the item itself to be alerted, then you're not truly being alerted, and therefore, it’s not of much value.
Good idea, but needs more work
