New item login field already populated
Hi, When I create a new item in the Linux, Android and iOS 1Password apps, the login field is already populated with an email address and focus is set on the password field. How to change that? I w...

Hello Spacehog! 👋
Thank you for reaching out. When you create a new Login item, 1Password will now automatically fill your email address in the username field and generate a password. Username suggestions are based on the vault that you’re creating a new item in and are suggested based on frequency of previous use in that vault.
You can read more about this new feature on our blog under "Better item creation and navigation - New item creation flow": 1Password product enhancements [Winter edition]: Mobile improvements, better item creation, and even more security features
The current expected behaviour is for 1Password to automatically generate a password and fill it into the password field when you create a new item.

Just a question, does marking your answer as a ‘solution’ mean that you are no longer taking the comments below as serious issues with this new feature? I see many users like myself that would like to see this feature as optional. But I notice that every topic around this issue has now been marked as solved (which it is not in my opinion). It feels like you’re shutting down the discussion. I get that developers often see users as annoying (just kidding), but we do have a serious point here. Using aliases is quite common these days and meant to keep us safe. Which I understood to be your mission too. What happens with all our feedback now?

Marking a post as a solution to a thread doesn't mean that the issue/request itself is solved or closed. It's a way to highlight the most up-to-date answer for anyone who stumbles onto the thread in the future.
Everyone's feedback will continue to be passed along to the team, the discussion remains open, and we'll continue to answer questions and collect feedback going forward. 🙂

Yeah, I don't want it to auto fill email (I use simplelogin) or auto generate a password either. I'm so tired of all these hand holdy changes to try and capture more of the "general public" market. These changes to make things "easier" are only for brand new users who've been under a rock the last 10 years and can't figure out a password manager. (Are you a new user!??!?!! Here's a checklist of things to do because you're new!!!! Need more help!??!?! Can't figure out how to type!?!??! Let me do it for you!!! xddd)
At least add a freaking toggle for all of these regressions.
Stop trying to do stuff for me, 1Password has been turning into more of a nuisance lately than a help. 99% of the time I have to undo what you just did and then do it myself anyway. What's the point of even being alive if we automate literally everything. Saving us time so we can go to the next tool and have it save us time and so on just to be even more tired at the end of the day??
I get it, 1Password wants to make more money, but STOP destroying the UX of your current users to try and capture potential users.

Hello Dave!
Indeed the password is auto-generated and I am fine with that.
But the login is my wife email address which is used in a few items. The thing is that I use a different address email alias for each web site, so I guess her email address comes as a suggestion as it is used more often than each unique alias...
Would it be possible to define a default email address?
Thanks

Thank you all for the feedback. The team is planning to allow you to choose which email address is suggested based on your default identity: Choose your default identity and credit card items
This change isn't in the stable or beta version yet but we hope to ship it as soon as possible. I know that this won't address all of the use cases discussed in this thread and I've made sure to pass along all of your comments to the team.

I have exactly the same. Only he uses my private email address instead of work. It doesn't matter which safe I choose. Very annoying, I would like to choose but I would much rather have an empty email address since I often create a username and password for customers. Can this become a choice asap?

Please, please make this optional! Or take it out until you do. I use aliases for almost all my accounts and logins. I want to choose the password options on every account I make. This is really a weird (bad) decision! It could even mean a deal breaker for me.
