Require password if the host device required it
I'm pretty sure there isn't an option for it, in which case this is a feature request. I would like 1Password to require a password other than accept biometrics to unlock the first time it's opened after the device it's running on itself required a password. You can quickly and inconspicuously force the iPhone to require a password by holding volume and power buttons briefly, and it would be convenient if 1Password followed suite, re-enabling biometrics again after the password is entered. I imagine that if this feature existed it would be a checkbox next to the Confirm My Password dropdown. However, I have enough no idea which devices, if any, expose an API to learn the method by which the device was unlocked.
Hello platron! 👋
Thanks for the suggestion! While I can't say whether such a feature will be added to 1Password, I've filed a feature request on your behalf to have the team look into this further for future updates. For the time being, you can set 1Password to immediately require your account password on your iPhone (instead of using biometrics) by following these steps:
- Open and unlock 1Password.
- Tap the icon for your account or collection at the top left and choose Settings. (If you’re using an iPad, tap your account or collection at the top of the sidebar.)
- Tap Security.
- Tap Lock 1Password and pause biometrics.
Thanks for sharing how we can make 1Password more useful for you and your needs.-Dave
