Staying signed in to 1Password

There was no security tab under settings. How can I set my preference to stay unlocked?

If you're using the 1Password 8 app then you can follow Grey's instructions above to change the app's auto-lock settings.
If you're only using 1Password in the browser then you can follow the instructions here: How to set 1Password to lock automatically
If that doesn't work then are you able to post a screenshot of what you're seeing on your screen? Make sure that nothing sensitive is visible in the screenshot as this is a public forum.

I think I have version 2.13.0 for either the app and/or the browser. I don't know if one of them is version 8. I am new at this, but I will try both sets of instructions. If both fail, I'll send you a screenshot. Thank you for your response. By the way, what is meant by: "You can use Markdown in your post."

Thank you, Dave. I finally arrived at the settings and set them according to my preferences. I verified that I have version 2.13.0, but am still not sure whether it is for the app or the toolbar icon. I use them both. How do I acquire version 8, and is it really necessary?

I'm split your comments into a new thread so that we can avoid pinging the original poster of the old thread each time that we reply. 🙂

I'm happy to hear that you were able to change the auto-lock settings.

2.13.0 would be the latest version of the 1Password browser extension. You said that you use the app as well, can you tell me what version you currently have installed? You can find out by following these steps:
- Open the Applications folder on your Mac.
- Double-click on "1Password.app" (or "1Password 7.app" if you see that).
- Click on 1Password next to the in the menu bar.
- Click on About 1Password.
By the way, what is meant by: "You can use Markdown in your post."
Markdown is a way to format text. For example, if I wanted to bold the word "Hello" then I would write it with two asterisks on either side:
**Hello**
and it would appear like this when I posted my comment:
Hello
You can read more about Markdown here: Markdown - Wikipedia
You don't have to use Markdown and you can also just use the formatting buttons instead if you wish:

Dave, thank you so much for your help. I found that I have version 8.10.9. Thanks also for the referral to Wikipedia for "Markdown". I'll stick with the formatting buttons.

You're running the latest versions of both the browser extension and the desktop app. That means that you're all set and there's nothing more to do.
I'm always happy to help, don't hesitate to reach out again in the future if you have any questions. 🙂
