1password fails to complete fields. Auto-fill doesn't seem to work at all.
I have read the knowledge base article and made sure that NONE of these issues are relevant - I have also updated the extension.
It still doesn't work in Safari. After logging in from the browser window nothing happens. Please let me know what I should do?

Hi John,
I'm sorry to hear that you've been having trouble with 1Password filling in fields. I'm assuming that by reading the knowledgebase article, you mean our 1Password fails to fill data article (but I'm including it here just in case someone else finds the thread.)
In order to get this sorted out for you, I am going to need a bit more information from you:
- What version of 1Password do you have installed? Please also include the version number of your operating system.
- What steps are you taking to ask 1Password to fill? Please include what you expect to happen, and what actually happens.
- Is this happening across all websites, or are there a few causing you problems? If this is happening on specific sites only, I'd love to have a few URLs to test on my end.
The more detail you can provide, the easier it will be to find a solution! Thanks so much for your help here :)

Same problem for me - running Firefox 26, 1Password 4.1.3 and I have just reinstalled the Firefox extension.
I have gone through the "1Password fails to fill ..." article, there were no issues that related to me.
When I double click a website within the 1P app or the Firefox extension the site opens, but fields are not filled. This happens on all sites I have tested.
In the 1P 3.x.x version there was at least a way to copy and paste username and password from the extension window, but this is not available any more. Now I have to switch back and forth between the 1P app window and Firefox. Frustrating!0 -
Are you expecting it to fill automatically when you open a web site? If so, it doesn't do that. You have to prompt it to do so, either by clicking the icon in the browser, or more conveniently by pressing CMD and \ at the same time. This is for your safety, to keep a potential intruder from gaining direct access to password protected sites. This is unlike the new iCloud Keychain in Mavericks, which does immediately fill in those fields when you open a protected site.
If that isn't the issue, never mind. But I have seen posts by users who are expecting auto fill without the user's direct intervention.

Hi @KlausJohn,
I'm so sorry to hear that you're having trouble getting 1Password to fill things in for you. Thanks so much for going through the filling article and making sure there are no outstanding issues there!
First of all, I just wanted to let you know that you can still copy and paste information from 1Password Mini. Simply click on the field you wish to copy (or navigate to the field and press Enter). For troublesome sites that require copy-and-pasting your user information you can also use the Anchor feature to pin the details window to your desktop so you don't have to navigate back and forth between the Mini (or the main app) and the website.
Now, I'd like to take a closer look at your system to see if we can't track down why fill is being difficult for you. Could you please send us a Diagnostics Report?
http://learn.agilebits.com/1Password4/diagnostic-report.html
Then attach the entire file to an email to us: support+forum@ agilebits .com
Please do not post your Diagnostics Report in the forums, but please do include a link to this thread in your email, along with your forum handle so that we can "connect the dots" when we see your Diagnostics Report in our inbox.
Once we see the report we should be able to better assist you. Thanks in advance!

Megan, Thanks for the hint about the copy and paste. How do I access the "anchor feature"?
The diagnostics report is on its way, as requested. To hawkmoth: Yes, I am expecting exactly that, because it matches what I have been experiencing with 1Password since I started using it a couple of years ago. I have not seen anything from AgileBits telling me that this does not work any more in V.4

To anchor a login from 1Password mini hover over over the arrowhead by the login name and then click on the anchor symbol when the login details display. (I can't be more precise as I'm using 4.2.BETA-1 and the anchor symbol has sadly been stolen...temporarily, I hope!)

I guess I use 1Password differently than you do. I open a login in my browser, then press Command-\ to fill the form. If I start from 1Password and click on the URL in the record for such a site, then it does go to the site and immediately fill the form. But the latter hasn't been my usual habit. Is this the reason why we have a different experience?

@ hawkmoth. This comment you made really helped
"Are you expecting it to fill automatically when you open a web site? If so, it doesn't do that. @agilebits please add to your FAQ's.
@Megan, took me a while but once I realised just clicking on the field copied it to the Clipboard for me to use a standard Paste I was pleased.
@Stephen_C Thank you for explaining the Anchor.
After struggling with 1Password and sending an email to Agilebits this forum post really turned things around for me. I had got used to Safari filling in passwords like a Rabid Rat up a drain pipe and forgot why I was testing 1Password, I wanted something that remained secure and under my control. In other words unless I initiate 1Password to login it does not. Now really getting to grips with 1Password thanks to these posters. Also much happier as 1Password keeps my confidential information safely locked away until I need it rather than make it available as soon as I log in.
Again Thank You to those who took the time to help.
