What data is needed to recover 1Password from a computer crash?

My computer recently crashed and the time machine backup didn't work either. Eventually I was able to recover the data BUT I realized I was in a very tenuous position.

What information would I need in order to reinstall 1password4 if I had not been able to get the Time Machine backup to work? I kept the keychain on dropbox. What about certificate numbers? Anything else?

I purchased the program through the website. Is there an option to change to the App store version? This would seem preferable in that I'm assuming it would automatically download once I got running again.

All you need to do is reinstall 1password and then point it to dropbox again. All done. Oh install dropbox first.

    No

If you are referring to the app itself then no. If you mean syncing thru iCloud then yes it should start downloading.

    Hi @emelum,

Yikes, computer crashes are scary things! I'm glad you were able to recover your data. Since you store your 1Password data in Dropbox, you should be able to get things back up and running by knowing 2 passwords: your Dropbox password (to log in to the website), and your 1Password Master Password. From the Dropbox website, you can access 1Password Anywhere and have access to all your data, including license codes and whatever other information you might need to get your system back up and running.

I hope this helps, but we're here if you have any further questions!
