iCloud Sync between two computers not working

I have the same version of 1Password on my Macbook and Macbook Air: Version 4.2.2 (422001). I am using iCloud for syncing.

I have been updating passwords due to the Heartbleed bug and I have discovered that passwords are not syncing.

I have been making changes on my Macbook Air, but when I go to my Macbook, I see the passwords are the old ones. I have tried forcing a sync in various ways, as it appears there is no actual "force sync".

I have tried:

  • Disable sync on the Macbook and then re-enable - didn't work
  • Disable sync on the Macbook Air (where password changes were made), disable sync on the Macbook, then re-enabling the Macbook Air and the Macbook a few minutes later - no luck.

Other than making a physical backup and then restoring it to the Macbook, is there a way to get the passwords to sync?

I had a similar problem in this thread.

Did you at any point check the option to "remove data from iCloud" on the non-working MacBook? This is what worked for me and what was being advised by Agilebits e.g. in post #5 of the linked thread. Basically you are forcing the Macbook to re-populate.

The possible difference in my case was that I knew my good up-to-data was in iCloud because other devices were up to date. This might might not work for you if the MBA has not been syncing to iCloud. You could try doing the same thing on the MBA. I would do a manual backup from prefs before doing it.

    Hi @alistaircom‌

I would like to apologize for the delay in responding to you here but we experienced a surge in support requests recently. We're doing the best we can to get back to our usual speedy replies as soon as possible.

Did @mikebore's suggestion help out? Generally, our first step here is to reset sync to start things off fresh. If you're still having issues after resetting sync, please let me know and we'll investigate further.
