Possible problem

How would you best troubleshoot the following:

  1. Password is reset, via the password. Password is generated via 1P and saved there
  2. When accessing the site, using 1P, I get something along the lines of "Password is invalid"
  3. At the same time, when copying the password directly from 1P, i can log in fine
  4. Issue persists after restarting the agent

A possibly relevant observation. Password i set is 14 characters. Meanwhile, when page is open up, 15 ******** appear. Additionally, I tried both Safari and FF, after having cleaned caches etc in both.

I later changed my password to be 10 chars long, but "Apple \" put 15 into the password field. It is almost as if some old password remains cached somewhere. Again, if I were to cut and paste from the Desktop Application, all is well.

    Please advise

Dear developers. The following fixed the issue:

    1. Delete Login
    2. Manually add Login

It seems as if you are caching something somewhere.

    Hi @iwonder3,

Thanks so much for bringing this to our attention! I'm sorry to hear you've been having trouble here, but I'm glad you managed to get it sorted out. In general, whenever you have difficulty with one particular Login, the best way to sort things out is to manually save a new version, like you did. Here are the official steps in case you need to fix any other Logins:

    • Edit the login that you currently have for this website by appending an "Old" to the title - just so you can tell them apart.
    • Visit the site and fill in the fields you want filled. Do NOT click the login button.
    • Click the 1Password extension, and unlock it if necessary.
    • Click the gear icon (or vault icon if multiple vaults are enabled) in the upper right corner.
    • Select Save new login.
    • Give the entry a unique and identifiable title.
    • Click Save.
    • Revisit the site and see if 1Password fills in the site correctly.
